Topics for the second IRC meeting of the DispatchWorkingGroup
ThoughtsOnDispatch260803 (by Anna)
- DONE: definitions: (to) dispatch, dispatch system, dispatch working group ... +++ we should set up goals for dispatch and next choose adequate technical solution
- Anna: to me it's the flow of information that we get during actions (or whatever) dispatch tries to find out what can be confirmed, structures the information and makes it usable for others that can be teams of reporters in the street, local editors in other countries, translator who want people of other languages to understand (...) for this we need to do one hundred little parts and fit them together and here we have some people who wuld like to develop technical helpers
- goalproposal: work out a basic guide to dispatching
- setting up milestones for the working group (a loose schedule not bound to dates× but to aims we want to reach)
- DONE: how can we expand beyond europe? and profit from other (non european) ways of doing dispatch?
- we should put together a short, easy to understand email to be sent to all imcs worldwide
- add a page to the twiki where the url's can be put to other dispatch situations
- zapata will ask the portland people to write something about their experiences...
- documentation (tech how-to's, detailed work-flows)
- DONE: setting up a mailing list for dispatchworkinggroup
- called imc-dispatch (A-man fills in the form)
- anybody who likes to admin the list please send an email to alsterwassermann AT gmx.de
- DONE: regular irc meetings? (with a stress on the question mark)
- every 2 weeks
- next one on ?
- twiki structure
- Coverage of DSEI arms fair, London, UK, see http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-europe/2003-July/001315.html
- any more (it's already so much!)
