Timeline for the Global Features team to think about for things that need to be done.

1.

  • Roll Call
    • take stock of all people on the www-features list that are actively contributing or would like to actively contribute but as of yet are unsure how to go about it. offer two weeks to respond to email with relative information. then unsubscribe those that have not responded with an email notification of how to re-subscribe.
    • compile all the information into a wiki page
  • Obtain Editorial Info from local IMC's
    • email editorial lists from all IMC's to get updated contact info for global features.
    • for features that are proposed that have a relelvant IMC, the feature would be emailed to that person/editorial group and verified or updated or dismissed.
    • encourage each IMC to have an active member on the global features list
  • DraftLetterofInquiry

2.

  • Have an IMPORTANT Meeting
    • discuss the roles of this list and what people would like to get involved with, etc.
    • some ideas include: working on global features, site design, site maintenance, and overall responsibility for global site
    • criticize the current way features are proposed, collaborated on and added to the feature wire.
    • set up a working model for changing/updating the global site

3.

  • Ideas For Things People on this list can help with
    • compile information for various "static" pages on global (about, links, multilinguality, everything under participate on the global front page) - see GlobalMenuIdeas for wiki working pages.
    • update producers xml so non-techies can add static pages to the startpage (bht will talk with zapata or john about this soon)
    • propose site appearance changes (banner being smaller, even color changes and such)
    • translate the buttons on the site into every language that we have gotten a translation for so far (i think that is like 15 different languages)
