What we're on about: indymedia needs a one - stop place for volunteers and volunteer coordinators to find eachother and get current information. Also, a great non-techy, place to just browse cool / useful stuff.
- This should be sign-in only (no spammers) and perhaps use the volunteer.indymedia.org site as a front. -- RovinNZ - 14 Oct 2002
- Initial wiki users might only know how to use Guest/guest, so we should be careful not to exclude people who want to help. -- BrandF - 16 Oct 2002
- We should document current global/local volunteer processes, including a list of documents, tools, databases, and most importantly, contacts. (issue: no sensitive info on the wiki

- let's start building the pages you see here now into such a one stop shop for volunteers - static pages can come later. -- RovinNZ - 14 Oct 2002
- it could have an internal publishing system which allows public reading but not posting. it's a support page not an imc site - not subject to open publishing rules.
- Since volunteer.indy... is the main global imc network page that recuits volunteers, we should make it easy for local imc's to add local info, updates and generally improve this global page.
- an email address of a person or list who can provide personal guidance for potential volunteers.
- Or a link to us from volunteer.indy... , wondering who owns the tool :). surely we could get something on/ like rt.indymedia.org ?
- volunteer.indy... sends the submitter an email - this email should include info about where or who the form info was sent to, ideally also info about their local imc (like: address, phone, mailing lists, projects)
- volunteer.indy... should include local and global contacts. see also: global contacts
- volunteer faq and other links (how to get answers, concensus best practices, global policies, local policies, ...)
- volunteer specific irc channel? other irc channels? see also IrcMeetingHowTo
- Each local site could have a simple online form to fill in for subscribing, contacting etc. Shouldn't be hard to tap this into the existing list structure. (Would we need a php and mir version to make this useful for all sites?) -- RovinNZ - 14 Oct 2002

- I would suggest: first page with the languages option. Once you click on a language you are asked what is your nearest local imc. you click on your nearest imc, and this takes you to the text that this specific imc has designed for the page.
