The Concept

As more IMCs start up continuous radio feeds it becomes desirable to have global IMC news as part of that stream, prehaps at the top of each hour, in addition to local news.

There is no reason we should each need to do this every day! Instead the different local IMC radio groups can work together and share the workload for this, each taking a day of the week and coordinating on IRC to get the daily 5 minute program released.

Current Status

We've had a global Indymedia radio feed running since May. In the global audio meeting which proceeded it's launch we decided that the IMC WorldNews program would be a part of this global radio.

Several local IMCs have their own radio feeds, in addition to hundreds of community radio stations who would likely run this daily program.

We're at the point of needing to pin down the "bed track", or intro/background/outro music for the segment. This will allow the program to build a recognition by listeners, despite who's reading the news any specific day. We also need to pin down who's going to read the news every day, and a daily "deadline" for getting it out.
