After logging in to indy.us, you are met with a page of lots of things.

At the top of the page you have three options, 'password', 'start', and 'logout'. By choosing the password option you will be taken to a place to change your password, you should do this if you have be given a new password. The start option will take you back to the start page of the admin interface from wherever you are, it is a much used and handy option. Obviously, the logout option will log you out. While logged in, there is a security feature in Mir that will log you out if you do nothing inside admin for an amount of time...i do not know what this amount of time is. It is important to remember that if you are working.

There are three columns, the column to the far right is the internal messageboard. This is used for communication about things that happen inside admin. There is a character limit for posts to this board, 255 characters max. Obviously it is not for long discussion, but little updates, tips, tricks, or just saying hi. This can only be viewed by folks that have admin access. You can post edit or delete items on this messageboard. For posterity sake it would be nice if posts were NOT edited or deleted. To add a message, just click the 'add' link. To view all messages, click the 'edit' link, this takes you to the area where you have the option of scrolling through the past communications on the messageboard, and to edit or delete messages on the board. As far as I know, there is no backup of this, so once a message is deleted it is gone, this is why it is important to not delete or edit messages!

The other two columns have much more in them and are therfore more complex. Lets start from the top of the middle column!

• ADD/EDIT

The top box of the middle column is titled: ADD / EDIT, and has these options:
new article
breaking news [+]
open article #:
open comment #:

The NewArticle^? option will take you to a form where you can add articles internally, please see the independant description of this for more.

The BreakingNews^? option will take you to a form where you can add breaking news items (like razorwire items) that will be at the top of the page.

The other two options are to jump to specific articles or comments. This requires the unique article or comment number. The article numbers exist in the url of the indy.us article, and the comment number seems to be only available inside admin.

• MEDIA

The second box of the middle column is titled: MEDIA and has these options:
