The Brisbane crisis: process timetable

The network meeting that occurred in Melbourne developed a proposal for a process to try and help the Brisbane Indymedia collective resolve their differences and function effectively. This proposal came out of many hours of discussion between the activists in attendance at the conference, as well as taking into consideration the efforts made by the wider community of Oceania activists through participation in email communications, internet relay chat and physical meetings that have occured in Brisbane and elsewhere. The contents of the IMC Membership Criteria and the ImcNantesPrinciples of Unity were referred to throughout.

The timetable agreed upon by the network meeting was as follows:

18 July 2004

• proposal sent to cat@lyst collective - viewable on catkore as Catkore Brisbane Indymedia Crisis - IMC Oceania Network proposal - for Cat@lyst discussion
• suggested that catalyst can reach concensus about the proposal within 7 days due to the urgency of the situation (increased spill-over of the dispute onto external email lists, including resignation letters and people stating that they do not ever want to work together again)

25 July 2004

• provided that there is not disagreement from cat....
• Brisbane Indymedia site passwords (tech and administrative) handed over to IMC-Oceania 'care takers' - ACTION: AndyCat
