Le mercredi 13 avril 2005, un membre du colectif animant Indymedia Paris a été convoqué à la brigade de répression de la délinquance contre la personne, rue chateau des rentiers.

Pendant un peu plus de deux heures il a été auditionné par trois inspecteurs sur :

- Des message antisémites paru en juillet.
- Un article d'octobre sur Florence Rey et Audrey Maupin.
- des articles concernant la campagne contre le constructeur de prisons Bouygues.

A la fin de l'audition, les fonctionnaires de police ont demandé à ce que les logs leur soient fournis (Pour information les logs sont sensés permettre d'identifier l'ordinateur d'où un article a été posté).

La délation est une pratique à combattre et la liberté d'expression un principe à défendre et nous nous insurgeons contre cette demande contraire à l'éthique et à la charte d'Indymedia.

ENGLISH VERSION

On Wednesday, 13 April 2005, a member of the collective that administers Indymedia Paris was called in before a section of the police known as Brigade for the Repression of Delinquency Against Individuals, on Chateau des Rentiers street.

For a little more than two hours, this members was heard by three inspectors on:

- anti-semitic messages posted in July

- an article from October on Florence Rey and Audrey Maupin

- articles concerning the campaign against the prison developer Bouygues

After being heard, the police requested that the ‘logs’ be handed over (FYI – logs enable identification of the computer from which an article was sent).

Denouncing - or tattling - is a practice that must be fought and freedom of expression is a principle to be defended. We therefore refuse this request from the police, which is contrary to the ethics and chart of Indymedia.

We will keep you informed of any subsequent action that could follow on from this affair.
