ImcBristol is supporting the almuajaha project in baghdad, including the creation of an official or unofficial IMC group in baghdad.

In 2003 / 2004 we were hosting and technical support on an ongoing basis, and did some fundraising in order to send money to support the project.

Unfortunately we had difficulty maintaining effective communication and eventually lost touch with the group, and let the site lapse.

In addition, there were huge problems with spam - the open newswire led to problems as the access to real volunteers and posters was obviously difficult, and became at times overwhelmed by the large and often negative response it attracted from a (predominantly western) audience with much better access to technology and more time on their hands.
