Translation Howto

Introduction

This is a proposal of instruction about using the imc-ch-process mailing list. Some conventions are needed to keep the work easy and quicker.

Mailing list

To subscribe to this mailing list, go to http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-ch-process put your email, click on "Subscribe", wait a few seconds, check your mail, answer the mail without any change and you're in.

Title formatting

The mail sent to this mailing list must have the following syntax:

"ORIGINAL_TITLE [source: l1] | [l2: XXXX]"

where:

  • l1 is the original language of the article
  • XXXX can be one of the following:
    • TODO: means that who send the email requests a translation from language l1 to language l2
    • ILLDO: means that who send the email will translate the text from l1 to l2 (so there won't be double translations of the same text)
    • REV: means that who send the email requests a revision of his translation from l1 to l2
    • DONE: means that who send the email revised the translation and send the final version of the translated text in l2

Note on html

Please write your mail as TEXT/PLAIN (not html) as it is easier to copy/paste. If the article is in html, then write in html but keep sending it as text/plain (so we'll se the html and not the result of it)
