Hey all,

you might know that there has been an unsuccesfull attempt for a 
European Indymedia Summercamp to be held this summer. However we, 
members of imc athens , IMC Thessaloniki 
and other independent media projects, thought that it would still be 
great to meet up. So we came up with the idea of an unoffficial 
indymedia summercamp in Greece. We plan to meet at the island of 
Samothraki (in the north-east end of Greece, the closest Olympic venue 
being hundreds of miles away!) from the 1st to the 10th of August.

This is an open invitation to all people involved in independent 
grass-roots media accross Europe (and beyond!) who would like to join 
us, exchange information and ideas, as well as have some great holidays 
in what is one of Greece's most beautiful and peaceful islands. Please 
note however, that the meeting will be largely vacation-orientated and 
that no internet access will be available on site (the nearest internet 
point being 9km away). Samothraki's location in the north of Greece 
means that it will be easily accesible by those who might want to join 
us after the PGA gathering in Belgrade.

As we realize that not everyone will be able to make it for all ten 
days, we plan to have a 'concentrated weekend' of discussions, 
workshops, screenings etc. from the 6th-8th of August.

We plan to hold the camp at the island's municipal camping place. This 
means that every individual will have to pay an accomodation fee of 
approximately 6 euros per night (price calculated on two persons sharing 
one tent).

If you plan to come to the summercamp please let us know in advance, so 
that we can have a rough idea of how many people will attend. Also 
please inform us about ways in which you can help and/or any special 
needs you might have and how we could cater for them.

Quizas sepais que habia un intento de organizar un indymedia camping 
europeo este verano. Sin embargo, nosotros, miembros de cmi Atenas, cmi 
Thesalloniki y de otros proyectos independientes, pensamos que estaria 
bueno si todavía podriamos encontrarnos. Entonces nos occurió la idea de 
un Camping unofficial en grecia. Tenemos la intención de encontrar en la 
isla de Samothraki (en el Norte-Oeste de grecia, cientos kilometros 
lejos de cualquier estadio olímpico) desde la 1a hasta las 10 de Augusto.

Este es una invitacion abierta a tod at s que estan involucrados en medios 
de base en toda europa (y mas alla!) quienes querian juntar con 
nosotros, intercambiar informaciones y ideas, y ademas pasar unos días 
relajantes en una de las islas mas lindas y tranquilas de grecia. El 
sitio de Samothraki, en el Norte de grecia, significa que estara facil a 
venir a l at s que querran juntar con nosotros despues de la reunión de PGA 
en Beligrado.

Porque sabemos que un at s no podran estar por todas las 10 dias, pensamos 
en tener un "fin de semana concentrado" con discuciones, talleres, 
proyecciones etc. De las 6 a las 8 de Augusto.

Tenemos la intención de alojar en el camping municipal de la isla. Esto 
significa que cada persona tendra que pagar mas o menos 6 euros cada 
noche. Quienes quieren, pueden campear fuera del camping, pero tenemos 
que anotar que es illegal y hay controles policiales.

Si tienen la intención de venir en el camping, informarnos 
anterioramente, por favor, para que tenemos una idea de cuantas personas 
estaran. Ademas, si pueden informarnos sobre los modos en que pueden 
ayudar o/y si hay algunas necesidades especiales cuyas probablemente 
teneis y como podemos ayudaros
