Legal Information for Indymedia Reporting of the G8 Summit

Note: it is illegal to squat buildings or camp on land in Scotland - this is counted as 'Trespass' - The maximum penalty is a fine of £200 although the police may arrest people for this offence.
The G8 Legal Support Group will produce cards with the legal support telephone numbers on it.
Specific Legal Information for Media Activists
Indymedia together with other alternative and independent media groups and journalist unions will produce a short information sheet about your rights on the street as a journalist. This will be published on indymedia websites and be printed out in the media centres.
Some specific training for Audio, Photo and Video Teams will take place just before the G8 Summit
The police in the UK do have a history of harassing journalists, assaulting them, detaining and arresting them. Here is a list of some of the incidents:
