Imc-Ithaca Radio Working Group Mission Statement

Within the mission of the Independent Media Center of Ithaca, our mission is to facilitate the creation and distribution of audio by many mediums.

We will provide the tools and training nessesary for the production of audio content within our ability. This includes (but is not limited to) news, editorials, announcements, and music. Towards this goal we will aquire audio recording, editing, and mixing equipment which will be available to the public to produce content.

Open Publishing can, and we believe should, apply to audio as well. To these ends, like other media, audio published to the website will be available immediatly to the public. We assume the responsibility to, under the terms of audio editorial policies approved by the Independent Media Center of Ithaca, manage the placement of audio on the website and on one or more IMC-Ithaca radio streams.

We may request additional funding from the IMC for expensive equipment, shared resources, or for emergency situations, but in general policy we assume the responsibility for raising and spending funds for audio equipment, storage media, and promotional material.
