i think the 27 May new-imc deadline has long passed :) i think
IMC Jakarta should be passed on to imc-process with the standard
7 day deadline?

(imc-australasia people: this means that unless someone objects at
imc-process, IMC Jakarta will be official 7 days from when
the proposal is posted to imc-process)

[id]
Aku pikir bahwa sekarang akan hanya seminggu sebelum IMC Jakarta
menjadi "resmi" - akan ada pengusulan di daftar imc-process
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-process/2002-June/

Here is the proposal with the 27 May deadline:
[id]
Di sini pengusulan di new-imc dengan pembatasan waktu 27 maj:
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/new-imc/2002-May/003565.html

[en]
Further developments since:

(1) The imc-jakarta list is now public :) i think this is good for
everyone:

http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-jakarta
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-jakarta/

(2) If i understood correctly, on 24 May Andy proposed (implicitly)
that IMC Jakarta be regionally approved by the regional (implicit)
new-imc process:

http://lists.cat.org.au/pipermail/imc-australasia/2002-May/000064.html

but of the regional sites, only Adelaide seems to have added in Jakarta
to the left column.

(3) i don't know whether spammers are IMC Adelaide fans are not, but
there's now a very high spam-to-signal ratio on the newswire on the site,
:( and this is even before global left-column listing. From 29 May to
3 Jun, among articles + comments 123 to 143, i only see one which is
Indonesia related news (134). This is a spam:signal ratio of about
20:1 . :(

Could someone from the regional support group help the Jakartans to
develop an editorial policy (and practice) of hiding spam? Given that
the imc-jakarta list is now functioning and public, it might be a good
idea to post messages to it about hidden articles. In any case, people
who claim that genuine "news" articles have been hidden *do* have this
list available for protesting about censorhip if need be. So i certainly
don't see spam as a reason for delaying approval. Several groups get
approved long before they can get together technically.

here just so that it appears on the imc-jakarta archive and on the
regional archive imc-australasia (where a regional new-imc process
sort of seems to be developing?).
