Indymedia dispatch during actions During actions or events Indymedia.nl tries to provide a dispatch telephone number for direct reports from the streets. Either by phone or by sms.

• Only give the details you have seen yourself. If you are asked by others to report something: make clear what is second-hand information.
• Don’t give rumours or speculations. Stick to facts, actual numbers and things you have seen yourself.
• Stay calm.
• If it’s too loud: text your info.

Documenting

• For video filming: keep the camera steady. Avoid zooming in and out. If you can identify relevant numbers on uniforms: speak them out load while filming to catch it as audio as well.
• Don’t wander off on your own for a good picture. Get somebody to watch your back while filming or to point out things.

Publish your news! Publishing on Indymedia is a s simple as writing an email – and about everything you would write in an email about an action to your friends is worth to publishing.

• Just click on Publish or Publicier and write your report and/or upload photos, audio and video files.
• If you encounter problems uploading larger audio or video files: publish them on video.indymedia.org or on radio.indymedia.org and just put the link in your article.
• When you upload photos: check that they will not cause a problem for the people on it. If necessary: make the faces unrecognisable. Also for people that got arrested.

News by and for those who make them. Indymedia.nl is mainly for first-hand reports, but not for rumours and speculations or copy-pastes of corporate media.

• Write the name and telephone number of a lawyer on your arm.
• If you are arrested: You don’t have to say anything without a lawyer.
• “I don’t say anything without lawyer” = “Ik zeg niks zonder advocaat”
• You have the right to medical attention, vegetarian/vegan food.
• You can be hold for 3 days. The first night doesn’t count if you are arrested after 18:00.
• Since 1 January 2005, you have to be able to identify yourself under which conditions. Consequences? Think about it in time whether you want to remain anonymous or not.

Arrestantenlist: Usually you can leave info on an arrest list, including medical details.

Witnesses: If you witness an arrest, record time and location and tell the arrest support group about it to make sure all arrested people can get help.
