Vandaag, 16 april 2005, trekken weer honderden Europese activisten er op uit om als burgerinspecteurs op zoek te gaan naar kernwapens, Om 9.00 uur vanmorgen is een bus met Nederlandse burgerinspecteurs vertrokken van het Amstelstation en die gaat op verschillende plaatsen nog mensen oppikken. Om 11 ur gaat de actie officieel van start en ze zal ook rechstreeks te volgen zijn via radio bomspottingXL

Bomspotting XL
Op 16 arpil 2005 is het weer zover, voor het zevende jaar op rij gaan burgerinspecteurs uit heel Europa op zoek naar kernwapens tijdens Bomspotting XL.
Na vier jaar bomspotting in Kleine Brogel, de bomstopping actie van "Get In Shape" en de Bomspotting Small van 2004 is het tijd voor de volgende grootscheepse actie. Wat zeven jaar geleden als klein initiatief van 20 mensen is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot de grootste directe actie van de Europese vredesbeweging met als hoogtepunt de laatste bomspotting in Kleine Brogel waaraan 2000 mensen deelnamen.
Voor Bomspotting XL trekken de honderden burgerinspecteurs dit jaar naar drie verschillende locaties op zoek naar kernkoppen, zoals gebruikelijk in Kleine Brogel, op de site van de laatste grote actie, die van de SHAPE en voor het eerst ook in het NAVO hoofdkwartier zelf.
Ook vanuit Nederland gaan weer een hoop mensen op inspectietocht naar België, De actie werd lekker vroeg aangekondingd en er gaat een bus die op verschillende plaatsen mensen zal oppikken. Voor wie er niet bij kan zijn maar wel op de hoogte wil blijven is er Radio Bomspotting XL.

[en] Bomspotting XL On April 16 th, for the 7th year in a row now civilian inspectors from all over Europe will go and look for Nuclear Warheads during Bomspotting XL.After four years of bomspotting actions at the NATO airbase of Kleine Brogel (Belgium) [ 1 | 2 ], the bomsptopping action of "Get In Shape" and Bomspotting Small in 2004 it is time for the next large scale action. The initiative that started seven years ago with 20 participants has grown over the years into the biggestdirect action of the European peace movement, with a total of 2000 participants at the last regular bomspotting at Kleine Brogel airbase.
For Bomspotting XL the hundreds of civilan inspectors wil investigate three major sites this year. The traditional site of the Kleine Brogel Nato airbase, the headquarters of the SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe) and the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
There will be live radio coverage organised by Radio Bomspotting XL from 10 AM till 3 PM GMT on April 16th.
