Agenda:
1. Reports Back
Adelaide: we had a meeting tonight; confirmed details for sept 5th relaunch; we're looking at writing some features & notes on new site tools; there is a note on the old site, seen when you try to publish... we didn't expect the long delay; I'll try and add some more details soonest (as soon as I figure how). dave from nomasters is willing to host new site; just waiting to chat to finn about transfer.
Aotearoa: finn is in the wilds; haven't seen clare for a few days, nor halo. site is going pretty slow.
Melbourne: possible concert with kev carmody and other acts in oct - concert in conjunction with other groups such as foe, vpn etc
Manila: the usual problems of not having equipments to update the site, plus money probs. Contact with WC - seldom, last fri. i made a angst filled email on matters such as too much generalization of qc on barriers on relationship between oceania and asian imc'c (theGoatasaguest). email was sent to Alex. about the proposal of an ala-oceania network. none so far...i am really pissed on how they handled things on networking, we were the nearest imc yet they never informed us on those proposals.
Q. is he the only person you've talked to in QC about that?
A. nope. not yet, i do hope though, it's just a question of sincerity and democratic processes... and i am not comfortable with the process since building a network on the premise that we asians were having difficulty, in terms of geo-cultural gap?
Perth: we're doing a fundraiser screening of 'the take', it's mutual aid with the beginnings of food not bombs, like co fundriasing... some newsreel stuff beginning, a doco... and hopefully a video making meeting.. cos i keep finding interested people. we have been offered 6wks 1hr/wk air time from ch31. we need to fill it some how.. i'll contact ska and more.
The other big development in perth is a degree of renewed interest in the site from mainstream journos: over the whole story about the nazis harassing us. the cops did mass arrests over last few weeks of neo nazis and it seems that evidence that folks posted on perth indy suggests purgery, so it seems that the indy community is finally getting its vengance in perth, which is kinda nice.
Sydney: ok, sydney: we have got the black cat room going - is a room with computers etc in town that is shared with cat, used by imc on thursday nights. we're doing workshops and thinking of how to get people involved. we haven't had a meeting yet since the conference, but got one i think tomorrow but maybe next week [i need to check!]; several new ppl should come - so it's all good
2. Site Updates
Adelaide
OK: plans advanced for site relaunch on sept 5th; venue, DJ, band booked; 2 features selected for screening. 2 new people want to get involved (yay!) and we've cleened up the imc adelaide mailing list. leaflets will be distributed this fri, so we need to work on finishing the site & preparing intro to new features.
Q. does adelaide have rss ready for inclusion in oceania?
A. hmmm I presume dada genrates same; we're not online again yet, but will have rss feeds for newswire & features, even if I have to write them myself!
Clarification: Dada can do them - features and newswire.
Oceania
- the other problem is that bris and syd don't put out long rss right? [ACTION: can andycat look into this?]
- we still don't have an oceania gif: there should be one on every site. And_ is hassling graphic design friend to make one soon. discussion about pros and cons of pirate logo. discussion. [ACTION: and_ to send final design to imc-oceania before any implementation decisions]
- conference stuff - finance - people requested to comment further on ImcOceaniaFinance
- some tech discussion about standardised query interface which i didn't really follow...
3. Brisbane
I am Kimci. BIMC report?
- The library is going well. 7 at last meeting
- Kill Your TV [an allied offshoot had 34]
- the number of people involved was disputed by and_
- The last resource collective had 5 people
- WE currently have 13 full members. (attending 2 of last 4) subgroup or genertal meetings)
- Looks like First mediation Friday
- The Resource room vid editor has VHS, 3 mons, DVD burner, Cable booked recording is being planned
- Library wiki site is up on IMC one
- All minutes and standing agreements are there too.
- I have made a linked list of all catkore emails relating to BIMC to show the password was never discussed there when Andy changed it the first time. I will be publishing that with a commentry.
- GDM told the process list there was Brisbane representative at the Oceania conference.

- Saturday is quick general meeting after mediation to get site back. Bigger meeting in 30 days
- ACTION: KimCi to write a feature for submission to imc-brisbane-admins at lists.cat.org.au detailing the time and place of the open meeting on saturday. needs to be submitted by Tuesday morning in order that it can be posted on Wednesday morning and people can have enough notice.

* Can we clarify the meeting on saturday; is this of the 13 BIMC members? yep, all 13 have been told through all our organising list and will get direct emails tonight for ones that have unsubbed
- We did agree that posts were hidden that none of us hid so the current password holders all say it wasn't them, So the new password should go to all the people present at that meeting plus Danni as we are all the formally documented [i think this is referring to a past meeting, not the proposed one one saturday...]
- Anyway we are meeting Saturday and that can only be blocked by continuous discussion.

4. Asia-Pacific/Mutual Aid
- put off until next meeting as first item. To be discussed on list and wiki page.
- subsequently decided that wowi would organise a meeting to be in 2 weeks - after discussion with relevant IMCs as regards timing and agenda.
5. Video Project
anna and and_ will hopefully meet with dave this week or early next week to discuss use of server and a bunch of the tech stuff. andy has played with the code and got it happening on cat:

nobody really gets the test site at the moment - need to talk to andy.

6. Any Other Business
Wowi: report back on Asia Pacific stuff
i just got off the fone from bowo, from jakarta imc: he's going to use the jakarta-imc list again..
there's the new collective who are trying to get the keys to the old collectives site... old collective has forgotten passwords.. so that needs fixing. also: they want to change their interface.. ? - so er tech types.. email bowo or join imc-jakarta list
manila are working on a finance proposal, too. have been in contact with wowi.
think that jakarta needs quite a bit of help and telephoning too, rather than just email - wowi will do a follow up call.

discussion on whether to have a separate list or not. proposal to be sent to imc-oceania with discussion of at least a week. [ACTION: wowi, i think, to do this. please correct if wrong!]. note: not everyone was in agreement. zl2tod to communicate thoughts to aotearoa people and also comment on proposal to imc-oceania.
