Writing about imc (uk?)
It has been said that history is always written by the winners. Well - let's start writing some indymedia history and hope this saying is true!
This is the beginning of a workspace and archive for imc-related writing. this page will slowly transform to a list of articles & if necessary their drafts and ressources.
Media Democracy Magazine / Imc Uk article
"Sam and Annie" published an article about Imc Uk in the indymedia issue of the magazine
"Media Development", autumn 2003 (
article).
We were invited to contribute via
email.
The editor wanted a presentation of imc-uk of 1000 to 1500 wds. See the
first and
second draft. Indymedia Bristol has handed in their
own text, so I didn't include their process. Thanks to planet and yoss for comments.
Routledge Alternative Media Handbook / Imc Uk article
"Sam and Annie" agreed to write an article, 4000 words, for Routledges forthcoming Alternative Media Handbook (2006). Deadline early February. Kate Coyer is one of the editors and an indymedia radio volunteer. Mails were sent to see if more people were interested in contributing, and finaly a very late version was submitted during summer of 2006 (august?). There were several draft versions of notes and of the article itself, but because the wiki was down for so long many are not online. Here's what is:

ImcUkWritingAltMedHandbook2 (more notes)
ImcUkWritingAltMedHandbook3 (notes and structure)
