How to overcome dictatorial tendancies within non-hierarchical organising

The original idea for this workshop - presented during the open forums on thursday at the SoS conference - was born the night before from discussion between a few activists, up in the Chai Tent.

We had seen the image earlier.

The workshop was attended by around 15 people and turned out to be one of the most productive that I had been to in a long while - not only did the discussion flow freely, but continued well past the allotted hour and I believe also provided solutions for some people to problems they were currently trying to deal with. Maybe i'm just creating the illusion for myself, though....

I prepared some preliminary notes about various things that I had been involved in - but as it turned out, we did not really end up discussing any of them!

However, I have placed them on the wiki for other people to use as they wish. I also think that some of the ideas and potential links in the notes are quite useful and relevant to the subject, so I hope they will stimulate me in the future.
