Oceania RSS feeds

• http://oceania.indymedia.org/long.php
• do people thing 200 characters per feature is enough?
• html truncation & bad character fixage now working
• minor bugs, no feeds have images tho
• note that RSS feeds do not include images (except for channel image) normally; need to add content:encoded with images
• but: some do - this for instance: http://blogs.sun.com/roller/rss/richb
• BUT: that blog RSS basically used content:encoded in an rss 2 feed; most indymedia produces a simpler rss 1 summary feed rather than full content, hence no images

• how do we want the long page linked from the front page? have a "summaries" link?
• i thought the long page was gonna be the new front page..mebbe it wd make sense to have it as the first page sumone gets to, with the old front page with skimpier links lionked to it (just an idea)
• that way the reader immediately gets a taste of the substance of whats being written about in oceania worlds
• how about just "headlines" and put it in the top row of links? - yes:

  • ah, we wre gonna do video feeds in the rh, yeah?
  • kewl!

• link to the oceania wiki sumwhere?
  • mebbe where the conference link is now? - yeah, good idea!

  • long syndication is sorted
  • oceania-tech list is sorted
  • we need a more widely announced irc meet in 1-2 weeks
  • PROPOSAL : Oceania IMC IRC meeting - 9th August - same times. same channel. same caves.
  • indymedia.org.au email mailboxes : nothing done yet.
  • internalisation on oceania indymedia : nothing done yet.
  • global imc-tech and oceania tech collaboration. : no discussion
  • upgrades to new codebases : need to move away from unmaintained codebases (eg active !)

Adelaide

• waiting to reach adelaidedev.cat.org.au to make a few changes
• the meeting tonight decided to delay "relaunch" until august 29th or thereabouts
• would like to have the site up & about foir a couple of weeks b eforehand, though
• dev server currently offline (see below)
• need to write sum features

IMC-Jakarta ??

• looking to start new-imc process
• dev site: jakartadev.cat.org.au - but currently offline, should be up in 2 weeks max
• running DadaIMC
• finn - tech support

oceangirl perth / brisbane

• posting news into #oceania-news from perth IMC
• setting it up for brisbane IMC ?
