PhillyIMC Finance Team
PhillyIMC finances were largely cared for by the indomitable energy of Amy D dating back into the recesses of PhillyIMC's inception. We are now in the stage of taking her vast knowledge and passing it on and putting to more great work.
Mission
The Finance Team takes care of the books for PhillyIMC and Radio Volta and assists with grants.

Fiscal Sponsorship
PhillyIMC does not have its own 501(c)3. We are fiscally sponsored (and forever grateful to) the New Society Educational Fund. This means tax deductable donations can be sent to NSEF in our name, and we can receive grants and stuff. Tax-deductible checks can be sent to Aaron Couch and written to NSEF with
PhillyIMC in the comment section. Non tax-deductible checks can be written to the Independent Media Center of Philadelphia.
PhillyIMC, LAVA, and Radio Volta
PhillyIMC used to share a bank account with LAVA and Radio Volta. That bank account was split. Now LAVA has its own account and books. PhillyIMC and Radio Volta share a bank account and books.
Mission Statement
The Philadelphia Independent Media Center (
PhillyIMC) is a non-corporate, democratic media collective serving Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. The
PhillyIMC seeks to play a major role in social, economic, and environmental justice movements by creating alternatives to the profit- driven agenda of the corporate media and providing an open forum for the "passionate and accurate tellings of truth."
Grants
We have received grants from Bread and Roses and Resist! We are currently working on increasing our grant capacity.
