Tech Team
Mission
Tech Team is responsible for safety, sanctity, and security of the sacred Vox, and any Nox thereafter.
Meets
Periodically as necessary.

- Vox Admin Group (a specific grouop of folks)
- Tech List Lurkers (open to anyone)
Communication: Tech Team communicates via the tech listserve.

Knowledge Base
These are the skill sets necessary for the web team to function. New web team members may join with as much or as little knowledge in these areas as they like. It is important however, to identify the skill sets that you have, and work on learning the skill sets that you don't. We are all hear to learn from ourselves and each other.
- familiarity with web application development
- linux(preferably debian) administration experience
- a good grasp of computer security and privacy issues, especially encryption and privacy
- a willingness to work not only with the local philly imc, but with a global distributed network of amazing imc tech volunteers
not strictly necessary unless you want to work on the
code(mir.indymedia.org):
- java and tomcat experience
Responsibilities
Tech Team Leader:
Responsible for overseeing the safety and security of IMC server. With help of team members, devise strategic plan for tenure. Report back on progress and revise plan as necessary. Attend monthly meetings. Attend Steering Committee meetings. Foster growth of Tech Team. Engage all team members in meaningful work when possible and delegate responsibilites. Facilitate communication within team. Serve as point person for Tech questions. Mobilize resources when serious problems with servers arise.
Vox Admin Group:
A specific group of technically knowledgeable people who has agreed to be on call for troubleshooting Vox and Nox.
Tech List Lurkers:
Folks who are not in the vox admin but have a stake in keeping in touch with the technical discussions, and often can help figure out how to make things happen.
