Intro to project

We are planning on doing radio coverage of the Miami protests against the FTAA, which will include prerecorded shows about Free Trade and its effects on the US/Mexico border region.

Internet streaming capability will be provided by http://peoplesradio.org

We will be working with the Free Radio Area of the Americas / Area Radio Libre de las Americas.

Story Ideas

Some ideas for people to interview for a prerecorded show are:

• CITTAC/Factor X/Maquiladora Organizers/Workers - Lotus spoke with people in this group. They are going to check with organizers and workers to see if they are interested.

• San Diego WTO Alert

• Environmental Health Coalition

• Students for Economic Justice

• Bob Filner - Mark contacted Filner's press person. We are waiting to hear back for interview confirmation. Interview will most likely be by phone. Conducted by Mark.

• Representatives from the Labor movement and the UFCW strike - see the topic page for GroceryStrike

• Organic Farmers and Fair Trade Coffee Shops

If you have followed up on one of these ideas, please post your info here. We will try to coordinate the production of an entire radio show by compiling various interviews.
