IMC Santiago emails on imc-process
[related to the decision by IMC-Santiago to disaffiliate from the IMC Network - and what to do as a result]
IMC-Process - November 2004
- 5 nov 2004 - a letter from "Indymedia Santiago’s Editorial Collective" explaining the situation.
The problems in Santiago Indymedia are being solved. We already talked in person with the people that was in desagree
with the IMC Santiago's work. The only reason we wrote back was to show our point of view of the situation. Thanking
for the support.
Collective Santiago Indymedia
The first indication of Santiago dis-affiliating came with a
mail about a post on IMC-Galiza which was in fact an article posted many places around the network. Several people wrote to say that there was
no proposal for disaffiliation [
1 ,
2 ]. There was then some
clarification about the proposal for disaffiliation, which apparently came from people
within the collective.
This was then followed up by a
suggestion to close the open-publishing and remove Santiago from the 'cities' list (29 Nov 2004). The first part of this was enacted following a
IMC-Latina irc meeting on 29 Nov 2004 (ES) (
Summary - EN), although there were some dissenting opinions from elsewhere in the network [
1 ,
2 ].
