Ashanti is named after the Black Panther/Black Liberation Army, Estacion Libre, and Critical Resistance activist and former political prisoner Ashanti Alston.

• Ashanti (formerly 'newdega') was built and deployed by Pittsburgh IMC techs to replace Dega which was under too much load. Thanks to ski for help with the hardware.

Hardware

• Pentium III at 666MHz
• 320 MB RAM - now 512MB RAM (supposedly maximum capacity) (upgraded early october 2005)
• disks:
  • hda: Maxtor 2F040L0 ATA DISK drive
  • hdc: Maxtor 2F040L0 ATA DISK drive
• eth0 is a ADMtek Comet connected to the Internet via netgear 10/100 switch.
• eth1 is a Macronix 98715 PMAC connected via crossover cable to Carlsson^?, the db server.

Software

OS

• ashanti runs debian linux (sarge)
• hda and hdc make up a single software raid1 array using the linux 'md' and 'raid1' modules. see AshantiMetaInfo^?

other

• webserver is apache 1.3.33-6sarge1, php version 4.3.10-16
• IMC sites are running dadaIMC (0.99)
