config details / documentation

postfix

munin

  • built from munin-main port, config is here: /usr/local/etc/munin/munin.conf
  • munin-node config: /usr/local/etc/munin/munin-node.conf
  • output goes to: /usr/local/www/data/munin

ntp

  • ntp can only sync clocks if the clock error is <~500ppm
  • freebsd, by default, uses the wrong hardware clock
  • Add 'kern.timecounter.hardware=i8254' to /etc/sysctl.conf to use the right clock
  • Then, ntpd configuration is textbook.

changelog

    • new FreeBSD install (duncan, mtoups)
  • November 2006
    • munin setup (mtoups)
