Ci sono vari server indymedia condivisi che possono avere abbastanza spazio per contenere il tuo IMC. Comunemente, ogni su ogni server girano uno o due codebase, ovvero la scelta del server che pu\xF2 ospitarti \xE8 strettamente legata al codebase che utilizzerai.

Software

Molti IMC fanno girare codebases che sono sviluppati dagli attivisti di indymedia. Comunque, ci sono anche un certo numero di codebases open source che possono essere (oppure no) utilizzati per un sito IMC. Partecipare

E' una gran cosa che tu voglia partecipare e dare una mano! Ci sono un po' di cose che puoi fare per iniziare:

  • Venire a un meeting Tecnico di Orientamento (il prossimo \xE8: NewTechOrientation2006)
  • Iscriverti alla mailing list appropriata (http://lists.indymedia.org/#Tech) e presentarti
  • Come onto IRC, many of the people who are working on this project hang out on IRC (irc.indymedia.org, channel #tech), there are a number of nice people from all over the globe who can help you get involved, and get you up to speed on how things work, and there is one mean one (jb). Here is a document on how to get started using IRC, if you have never used it before: IrcHowTo
  • Pick something from a Todo list and let people know you are working on it
  • Get yourself a Wiki account (TWikiRegistration) so you can make changes here; then, subscribe on Devel.WebNotify and/or Sysadmin.WebNotify to be informed of the twiki pages' changes
  • Look through the working groups above
  • Get a GPG key and start developing some trust with people
