indybay-active is a fork of sf-active developed by san francisco bay area indymedia.

indybay-active is similar to sf-active but is pure utf-8, uses innodb tables, and is built on the php 5/mysql 5 platform, including the mysqli php extension. indybay-active development is guided directly by the needs of the sf bay area imc's web collective, which has required such features as a classification queue for all incoming articles and comments, and the ability for center column "blurbs" to appear on any number of different category pages. All content, including posts, blurbs and calendar events, are stored in one set of content tables offering revision history and full-text indexed searching. Support for mobile devices is included. The jQuery library is used for ajax, event handling and other javascript functionality. zogren, a former sf-active developer, is currently one of the lead developers for indybay-active.
