Following the Rackspace problems, there was more discussion on imc-tech about syndication and resilience. Some people seem not to want imc-tech used for main development discussion and news.

In the past, there was a syndication list, but it was removed because it became a spam-trap with no admin. ListworkWorkingGroup offered to resurrect it. Following a call to imc-tech, MjR, joe and QuintenSteenhuis are the new admins. Go to the list homepage.

The draft outline for the list is:

News and discussion of syndication tools and methods useful for indymedia and activist groups in general. For example, extending or configuring current indymedia sites to import material published by activists.

Discussion of non-syndication aspects of tools should take place on the appropriate developer mailing list (see WebHome for links to IMC codebases). Discussion of legal aspects of syndication should happen nearer to ImcLegal

This list is populated by over-stressed developers with busy mailboxes. We suggest keeping quoted material to a minimum and replying beneath any quote, in plain text only.
