The work of this group is done on the new-project email list -- you can subscribe to the list and read the archives of the list.

Process

Clara has suggested these questions to be asked about each new project:

• what this url is for: event / working group / etc:
• if it is for an event or: for how long, and what the ideas are for afterwards
• contact technical
• contact editorial group
• existing contacts with indymedia? like are people already engaged in indymedia?
• short introduction
• a commitment to the PrinciplesOfUnity

Domain Names

A suggested name for projects that are event specific is event2003.indymedia.org for on-going projects it is projectname.indymedia.org it has also been suggested that event.2003.indymedia.org domain names be used.

Another suggestion is issuename.issueimc.org and topicname.topicimc.org and both of these names have been registered.

Another suggestion is: (topicname).topic.indymedia.org

Also, since http://us.indymedia.org has become official, it has been suggested that for North American events (dnc, rnc, etc) they be dnc.us.indymedia.org. Or something like that!
