This is the filter bar, use the dropdown menus to choose the topics and regions you are interested in finding out about specifically. The \x91Regions\x92 menu allows you to specify filtering into certain areas, all regions, international, national or county by county.

How the oscailt filters work is as follows though:
Method 1:
You can go direct to a filtered version of the index, newswire, gallery
and events pages by applying something like the following to the end of
the url
?region=dublin&topic=bintax&language=english
You can use the urlgenerator on the syndication page to get these urls.
Method 2:
Now in additon to that oscailt has a redirect.php script which in the
event of a request to the site that doesn't point to an actual file,
oscailt parses the url and attempts to find any categories mentioned
(topic, region, type, language) in any order and then redirects to an
index page filtered for those categories.
Eg any of the following works
http://www.indymedia.ie/galway
http://www.indymedia.ie/galway/antiwar
http://www.indymedia.ie/galway/antiwar/english
http://www.indymedia.ie/antiwar/galway/english
http://www.indymedia.ie/english/antiwar/
etc etc
Note that in both method 1 and method 2 searches for the category are case
insensitive and strip out any whitespace, hyphens and slashes. Also in the
case of languages you can use the language name (english), the full
language code (en-IE) or the shortened language code (en)
