Election of new members

If section 13.2 of the constitution is passed, the (Oct 7th 2006) meeting must choose a list of new members to invite. This will be carried out according to the following rules.

  • Anybody can put forward a name for election, indicating which work group(s) they should be a member of (based on past activity)
  • Once the list has been compiled, each name is put to the meeting. The proposer of the person can present the case for the member and everybody can speak a single time on each candidature.
  • Once everybody has spoken, a decision is taken according to the standing orders of the meeting.
  • All those elected will become a full member of the collective as soon as they send an email to the general list accepting the membership and agreeing to work as part of the collective, without any further discussion.
