-- All Power to the Working Groups
Indymedia Ireland does not have a formal structure at present - just a general belief in non-hierarchical methods of decision making and openness / accountability. In general this means that decisions are taken either by consensus on a mailing list or at a meeting - which happen sporadically (usually tied into hosting bill pressure) and in Dublin (for no reason other than..).
The non-hierarchical nature means that any group can call itself Indymedia as long ... don't know? Well D - is the trademark secured yet?
On structure - I like the spokes / hub model that UC have more than raising the bar generally for membership. I'm not sure however what a steering committee would do in Ireland (what is a network wide decision here?) and feel the money should be kept seperate. So maybe a statement of principles would be better than a structure, org chart and decision flow diagram.
Says he failing to write a structure doc in public.
A new proposal is on the way here with a decision flow diagram!
