• chat oceania channel to discuss the proposal from cam (http://lists.indymedia.org.au/pipermail/imc-oceania/2007-June/003252.html) to think about "an Australia wide IMC" and the possibility of "an Oceania wide IMC", aswell as other ideas that have come out of the recent discussion on email (http://lists.indymedia.org.au/pipermail/imc-oceania/2007-June/thread.html).

Decisions/Ideas/Comments

* problem with burnout and other commitments, particularly techies, leaves collectives in the region in a difficult position.

* Sydney, Coffs Coast and Arafura now on Drupal, Aotearoa is trying to move (and Melbourne could maybe if it comes back). There was a proposal to have a single IndyDrupal 'back-end' engine dunning on one server (eg Axxs), which is capable of driving multiple 'front-end' sites, one for each country or city capable of maintaining an editorial collective. Each front-end site could have its own appearance and conguration. (Strypey) Shayne (Perth) hates drupal (with a passion).

* to form a more informal workgroup to look at the tech options and report back to another meeting in a couple of weeks or something => can geeks join the oceania-tech list for tech discussion http://lists.indymedia.org.au/mailman/listinfo/oceania-tech

* discuss the option of password sharing between IMCs where folks can troll swat on other folks indys

* discussion around IMC in the pacific islands: people on the ground know what their priorities are and what resources they need to do independent media.
