http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcPatrasMissionStatement.

Praktika
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcPatrasConsensus Links για το consensus.
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcPatrasText εδώ.
- Πολιτική δημοσίευσης άρθρων αλλά και κεντρικών: Πώς θα αποφασίζεται αυτό; Τι κεντρικά θα ανεβαίνουν; Ο βασικός (νομίζω) προβληματισμός είναι: Αν γίνεται π.χ. μια εκδήλωση/πορεία από μια συγκεκριμένη ομάδα, θα γίνεται κεντρικό; Κι αν ναι, μήπως πρέπει να μπει μια συγκεκριμένη δικλείδα (π.χ. ποτέ δύο συνεχόμενα κεντρικά από την ίδια ομάδα) για λόγους αξιοπιστίας;
IMC Membership Criteria
a. Agree in spirit to the NIMC MissionStatement and PrinciplesOfUnity
We wholeheartedly agree!
b. Have a committed membership substantial enough to sustain a functional IMC
We had 30-35 people in our first meeting and at least half of them were willing to help in setting up the IMC.Also the IMC-Athens collective is willing to help us in our first steps (technical support etc.)
c. Have open and public meetings (no one group can have exclusionary "ownership" of an IMC)
We have open and public meetings in which anyone can participate. Our meetings so far have been advertised via flypostering and IMC-Athens.
d. Work toward developing a local Mission Statement or Statement of Purpose. Network Mission Statement may be adopted or used on an interim basis
We will be using the IMC Network's Mission Statement for now and we are also working on our own mission statement.
e. Establish and publish an editorial policy which is developed and functions through democratic process, and with full transparency
We have done so - our editorial policy can be found
here (link)
f. Agree to the use of Open Publishing as described in the NIMC Editorial Policy
We do agree with the use of Open Publishing as described in the NIMC Editorial Policy.
Due to the high volume of spam/personal attacks etc posted on the IMC Athens website, we would like to make a small variation to the 'usual' open publishing model: We want to use a pre-moderation type of administering the site's content: After a thread has been posted on our website, it would appear as "unread" (still accessible by a single click) until it is read by a member of the collective. If it does not breach our editorial policy, the article will then appear on the right column of the main page.
g. Adopt a decision-making policy that is in alignment with consensus principles which include open, transparent and egalitarian processes
We are fully commited to doing so. All of the collective's decisions are to be taken by consensus in its open assembly, in a transparent and egalitarian manner.
h. Have a spokesperson(s) willing and capable of participating in the global decision-making process and meetings as a rotating liaison/representative, with a clear understanding of the responsibilities that come with this role
We already have one person on global lists and more are soon to join in.
i. Participate in the key IMC Network Communication Methods that pertain to the health and vitality of the Network and that contribute to the work of the IMC. Assure that at least one person from your local IMC participates at any given time on the IMC-Communication list
Yes, one person is already on imc-communication.
j. (NOT FINALIZED): Have no official affiliation with any political party, state or candidate for office (comments: but individual producers have freedom to do whatever they like and local IMCs can "feature" stories about various political parties and initiatives)
We do not have an affiliation with any political party. As stated in our editorial policy, no political party or state propaganda is allowed on the website.
k. IMCs shall in no way engage in commercial for-profit enterprises. [We could add: The IMCN is committed to the decommercialization of information and will disassociate from any local IMC that decides to become a for profit media corporation.]
We will definitely not engage in any commercial enterprises!
l. Display a \xB3local version\xB2 of the IMC \xB3i\xB2 logo on your website and literature.
We are working on this right now.
m. Include the IMC Network current \xB3Cities List\xB2 on your site, preferably on the front page
We have already done so.
NETWORK MEMBERSHIP
1. Network Membership is open to any group that accepts the above criteria for membership. In the case of several requests from the same city or region, we will encourage them to meet and work together.
2. Network Membership in the NIMC will be confirmed by the New IMC Working Group, which is accountable to IMC-Process and ultimately to the NIMC decision-making process.
DEFINING OUR TERMS: For clarity and precision, we need to define our terms more carefully so there is less room for misunderstanding. Also explains how we as a culture (the IMC culture) use these terms.
* NIMC = Network of Independent Media Centers
* Open = means that diverse people and groups are welcome to attend and that no attempt is made to exclude people based on their sex, race, gender, class, age, ability or religion.
* Official affiliation = still being worked on
* IMC Network Communication Methods = international email lists, IRC discussions and logs, phone calls and conference calls, and face-to-face meetings.
* Local version = acknowledges the many variations of the name and the logo that will occur depending on the language and culture of the local IMC.
Editorial Policy
Indymedia Patras is an open publishing site. This means that everyone can publish news, comments and opinions.
This freedom leads to the inability of the editorial collective to verify the authenticity of the posts. Therefore you should be careful of what you publish, as well as have a critical view on what you read in this site.
The editorial collective of Indymedia Patras does not erase posts, but can hide them when:
\xB7 They have fascist/racist content
\xB7 They have sexist content: We are commited to the everyday struggle for the true equality of genders, for the ablition of sexist bias and sexist practises from our society.
\xB7 They are insulting, threatening or offensive: Without wanting to formalize or manipulate expression, we believe that opinions posted on this website should bare some minimum responsibility and respect towards all who contribute to it.
\xB7 They are plain reposts from corporate or political-party controlled media: We consider information serving the power (whether it is political or corporate), not compatible with the purpose of Indymedia Patras.
\xB7 They contain political-party/electorial propaganda: Indymedia Patras welcomes the publishing and juxtaposition of different ideas and opinions, but it is not destinated for a voter-approaching site.
\xB7 They advertise (directly or indirectly) products or services
\xB7 They are obviously false, misleading or slanderous
\xB7 They are "irrelevant" or without understandable contect
This site is politically oriented, so posts with "irrelevant" content (i.e. sports news, relegious theories, personal adds etc.) do not fit in its pages.
\xB7 They are posted more than once.
\xB7 They are of non-local interest
Indymedia Patras is a project that will try to decentralise information in Greece. It is for this reason that the website will only host content of local interest (i.e. Patras and the surrounding region of Western Greece). Posts concerning other regions of Greece would have to be posted in Indymedia Athens.
In addition, the editorial collective can hide posts including events announcements, proclamations or posters of persons or groups that have asked for their activities/publications not be posted on this site. However, any postings commenting on such persons/groups (or any of their activities) without violating the editorial policy have no reason to be hidden.
For the sake of transparency, all hidden/unread posts are accessible here.
Sensitivity in certain issues should be taken for granted, especially when you post photograhic material, so that there is no unwanted exposion of people or situations.
We would also like to ask that posts of very limited size (like one-line posts) are avoided.
Moreover, as each post "pushes" the rest out of the newswire visible in the front page, some of which can be really important, we ask that you use this site with respect and creativity.
Finally, please check if there is a post similar to yours before you publish it. If so, you could post your post as a comment. The editorial collective can merge similar posts.
If you have any comments on the editorial policy or how it is applied please contact us at

Principles of Unity
1. The Independent Media Center Network (IMCN) is based upon principles of equality, decentralization and local autonomy. The IMCN is not derived from a centralized bureaucratic process, but from the self-organization of autonomous collectives that recognize the importance in developing a union of networks.
We agree with the principles of the network and we particularly appreciate its self-organisation and decentralisation values.
2. All IMC's consider open exchange of and open access to information a prerequisite to the building of a more free and just society.
We wholeheartedly agree.
[3. All IMC's respect the right of activists who choose not to be photographed or filmed.]
Totally agreed.
4. All IMC's, based upon the trust of their contributors and readers, shall utilize open web based publishing, allowing individuals, groups and organizations to express their views, anonymously if desired. **see appendix: Open Publishing document --> still in proposal phase, at this address: http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-communication/2001-April/001707.html http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-communication/2001-April/000874.html
Also agreed, yet see for a clarification on the open-publishing model chosen by IMC-Patras
5. The IMC Network and all local IMC collectives shall be not-for-profit.
Agreed.
6. All IMC's recognize the importance of process to social change and are committed to the development of non-hierarchical and anti-authoritarian relationships, from interpersonal relationships to group dynamics. Therefore, shall organize themselves collectively and be committed to the principle of consensus decision making and the development of a direct, participatory democratic process] that is transparent to its membership.
We wholeheartedly agree and we are also committed to make our collective reflect the cultural, sexual and social diversity of our community.
7. [All IMC's recognize that a prerequisite for participation in the decision making process of each local group is the contribution of an individual's labor to the group.]
Agreed - we cannot see how it could be otherwise!
8. All IMC's are committed to caring for one another and our respective communities both collectively and as individuals and will promote the sharing of resources including knowledge, skills and equipment.
We are already benefiting from this principle, sharing resources with IMC Athens and we of course agree with it.
9. All IMC's shall be committed to the use of free source code, whenever possible, in order to develop the digital infrastructure, and to increase the independence of the network by not relying on proprietary software.
Of course, agreed.
10. All IMC's shall be committed to the principle of human equality, and shall not discriminate, including discrimination based upon race, gender, age, class or sexual orientation. Recognizing the vast cultural traditions within the network, we are committed to building [diversity] within our localities.
Again agreed and we are committed to building this diversity both in our locality and within our very own collective.
