Frock On workshop 16th of September

• ImcScotland at Frock On a women's festival in Glasgow with workshops during the day and gigs for all in the evening. ImcScotland was invited to do a four hours workshop at the Frock On the 14th of september.

The text which appeared in the program, was discussed on the ImcScotland discussion email list.

The workshop started of a screening of Undercurrents film "Globalisation and the Media" which gives an excellent summary and examples why alternative media is important, what the mainstream media lacks and a quick summary on how indymedia was founded, why and the history. I then showed the global indymedia website, the old imcuk site, and the new one, the admin page, the twiki page and passed round a list where people can subscribe if they want to be kept informed or participate. We then watched the Woomera 2002 film as being one of the most intensive and authentic of the alternative media films, also it has the desert indymedia access point in it.
