Indymedia G8 2005 - Collective Experience of Reporting Large Mobilisations

A quick look through the following documents will give a good idea of the kind of things that will be needed:

Also because of the geographic distances between cities and places (eg Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth etc) it's clear the most appropriate previous Indymedia organising model for looking at is that for Evian G8 2003: see

What's clear is that while the Indymedia networks can provide a good communication structure and invaluable experience from previous large mobilisations, the level of ideas, creativity, planning and participation will require input from many media groups both nationally and internationally.

Basic G8 Information

Note This info now being collected on these individual pages:

* ImcG82005MobilisationInfo - Basic info on groups mobilising for G8 and links to websites

* ImcG82005EventsForReporting - - G8 Events List for Reporting - actions, protests, counter-conferences etc

There are various groups mobilising and plans for various counter conferences, convergence centres, campsites and so on, all of which could be split around various locations such as Glasgow / Edinburgh / Perth / Sterling etc (see dissent maps section for an idea of the distances etc).
