Corporate Media coverage of UK Police COINTELPRO

The recent Guardian coverage of the DSEi 2005 FIT activist spotter card ( A | L | G | H | J | K | O | P | R | U | X ) and the National Public Order Intelligence Unit "extremist" database might represent a breakthrough in terms of public recognition of the extent of the UK police state. One previously secret police unit has been named, the National Domestic Extremism Team (NDET), Indymedia readers will already be familurr with the National Extremism Tactical Coordination Unit (Netcu) and the National Public Order Intelligence Unit (NPOIU), all 3 secret police units are unaccountable corporations. The expose is reminiscent of the US counter intelligence programe in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's, COINTELPRO, which destroyed many progressive civil rights movements and ensured the continued global dominance of the ecocidal Empire.
