per\xF2 anem poc a poc, una opci\xF3 \xE9s BitchX-SSL

BitchX \xE9s un popular client d'IRC per a la consola (sense entorn gr\xE0fic), a aquest programa se li va incloure el suport per a SSL creant BitchX-SSL

el descarregueu directament des de ftp://hq.alert.sk/pub/projects/SSL-irc (la versi\xF3 actual \xE9s la 0.9b)

aleshores, com normalment fariem normalment:

# bunzip2 BitchX-openSSL-0.9b.tar.bz2
# tar xvf BitchX-openSSL-0.9b.tar
# cd BitchX-openSSL-0.9b
# ./configure
# make && make install

acte seguit, obrim un altre shell (si utilitzem bash) o executem 'rehash' (amb csh o tcsh) per poder executar BitchX-SSL (ja que sin\xF3 no ens el trobaria) i executem:

# BitchX-75p3i-openSSL -SSL -p 6697 irc.indymedia.org -n elteunick

m\xE9s opcions per a connectar per IRC Segur? una grandiosa, per no dir enorme!

stunnel

stunnel \xE9s un programa independent del client d'IRC que crea una connexi\xF3 encriptada entre un port local i un remot d'una manera transparent per a les aplicacions. qui s\xE0pia qu\xE8 fa stunnel se n'adonar\xE0 que pot ser utilitzat amb qualsevol client d'IRC!

aleshores podeu executar-lo de la seg\xFCent manera:

ara obriu el vostre client d'IRC preferit (xchat, KSirc, etc...) i connecteu normalment al servidor localhost:6667 (6667 \xE9s el port t\xEDpic d'IRC)... e voil\xE0!

en UNIX/Linux tenemos diferentes posibilidades por hacer IRC seguro (cu\xE1l era la definici\xF3n de libertad?),

pero vamos poco a poco, una opci\xF3n es BitchX-SSL

BitchX es un popular cliente de IRC para la consola (sin entorno gr\xE1fico), a este programa se incluye el apoyo para SSL creando BitchX-SSL

lo descarg\xE1is directamente desde ftp://hq.alerto.sk/pub/projects/ssl-irc (la versi\xF3n actual es la 0.9b)

entonces, como normalmente se hace:

# bunzip2 <nop>BitchX-openSSL-0.9b.tar.bz2
# tar xvf <nop>BitchX-openSSL-0.9b.tar
# cd <nop>BitchX-openSSL-0.9b
# ./configure
# make && make install

despues abrimos otro shell (si utilizamos bash) o ejecutamos 'rehash' (con csh o tcsh) por poder ejecutar BitchX-SSL (puesto que sino no nos lo encontrar\xEDa) y ejecutamos:

# BitchX-75p3y-openSSL -SSL -p 6697 irc.indymedia.org -n tunick

m\xE1s opciones para conectar por IRC seguro? una grandiosa, por no decir enorme!

stunnel

stunnel es un programa independiente del cliente de IRC que crea una conexi\xF3n encriptada entre un puerto local y un remoto de un modo transparento para las aplicaciones. qui\xE9n sepa qu\xE9 hace stunnel se dar\xE1 cuenta que puede ser utilizado con cualquiera cliente de IRC!

entonces pod\xE9is ejecutarlo de la siguiente manera:

# stunnel -c -d localhost:6667 -r irc.indymedia.org:6697.

ahora abr\xEDs vuestro cliente de IRC preferido (xchat, KSirc, etc...) y conect\xE1is normalmente al servidor localhost:6667 (6667 es el puerto t\xEDpico de IRC)... e voil\xE0!

one option is BitchX-ssl

BitchX is a popular command line irc-client (without a graphical interface), which already has ssl support.

download it from ftp://hq.alerto.sk/pub/projects/ssl-irc (the current version is 0.9b)

and this is how you install it:

more possibilities to connect to irc in a secure way? try this:

stunnel

stunnel is independent of the irc-client you use. it creates an encrypted connection between the local and the remote ports that is transparent to applications. anybody understanding what stunnel does will see that it can be used with any irc-client!

1. TINDRE EL SOFTWARE

baixar aquest dos programes: mIRC32 + mirc-ssl

descarregar mIRC32: http://www.mirc.com/get.html

descarregar mirc-ssl: http://petito.indymedia.org/bcneditorial/mirc-ssl.zip

instal.lar mIRC32 en la carpeta c:\mirc

descomprimir mirc-ssl.zip a la carpeta c:\mirc (ficar solament els arxius, no la carpeta)

2. CONFIGURAR LA CONNEXI\xD3 A INDY

obrir el programa mIRC

en la finestra que surt en obrir el programa, clicar el bot\xF3 "Add" per afegir una connexi\xF3 amb indymedia

Tens que ficar coses en dos casilles

• "Description": un nom per a que te recordes de que \xE9s indy
• "IRC_Server": irc.indymedia.org

fas ok

ara tens que ficar en la finestra que encara hi \xE9s oberta

• "Full Name:" nom sencer
• "Email"
• "NickName" el nom en el que apareixes al xat
• "Alternative" per si algu ja te el nom que has escollit per al xat

fes clic a "OK"

3. FICAR LES PREFERENCIES DEL PROGRAMA BE

MENU FILE > OPTIONS > GENERAL > LOCK i desmarques /run

4. CARREGAR EL SCRIPT

des del programa mIRC32 apreta ALT-R per editar les opcions de 'remote', aix\xF2 obrir\xE0 una finestra. en aquesta finestra clica al men\xFA File, opci\xF3 Load i tria 'mirc-ssl.mrc'

si no veus el fitxer, surtir i tornar a la carpeta

5. FICARTE EN MODO SEGUR

ara escriu /secureirc en la l\xEDnia de comandes (la mateixa del xat per a parlar). A partir d'ara, ja no tens que ficar totes les opcions cada volta que entres, solament escriure a la l\xEDnia de comandes /secureirc

ja est\xE0s connectada de forma segura

per a saber si est\xE0s connectada : en la l\xEDnia de comandes escriu: /whois el_teu_nick

i apareixer\xE0 irc@127.0.0.1 en volta de la teua IP. ja estas conectada de forma segura. ara a xerrar tranquilament

-si et dona error- "/run: unable to open 'stunnel.exe' pot ser que no tingues els fitxers de mirc-ssl.zip gravats

1. TENER EL SOFTWARE

bajar estos dos programas: mIRC32 + mirc-ssl

descargar mIRC32: http://www.mirc.com/get.html

descargar mirc-ssl: http://petito.indymedia.org/bcneditorial/mirc-ssl.zip

instalar mIRC32 en la carpeta c:\mirc

descomprimir mirc-ssl.zip en la carpeta c:\mirc (poner solamente los archivos, no la carpeta)

2. CONFIGURAR LA CONEXI\xD3N A INDY

abrir el programa mIRC

en la ventana que sale al abrir el programa, clicar el bot\xF3n "Add" para a\xF1adir una conexi\xF3n con indymedia

Tienes que poner cosas en dos casillas

• "Description": un nombre para que te acuerdes de que es indy
• "IRC_Server": irc.indymedia.org

haces ok

ahora tienes que poner en la ventana que todav\xEDa est\xE1 abierta

• "Full Name:" nombre completo (puede ser inventado)
• "Email"
• "NickName" el nombre con el que apareces en el chat
• "Alternative" por si alguien ya tiene el que has elegido para el chat

haz click en "OK"

3. PONER LAS PREFERENCIAS DEL PROGRAMA BIEN

MENU FILE > OPTIONS > GENERAL > LOCK desmarcas /run

4. CARGAR EL SCRIPT

desde el programa mIRC32 aprieta ALT-R para editar las opciones de 'remote', eso abrir\xE1 una ventana. en esa ventana pincha en el men\xFA File, opci\xF3n Load y selecciona 'mirc-ssl.mrc'

si no ves el fichero, sal y vuelve a entrar en la carpeta

decir ok en la ventana

5. PONERTE EN MODO SEGURO

ahora escribe /secureirc en la l\xEDnea de comandos (la misma del chat para hablar). normalmente no tienes que poner todas las opciones cada vez que entras. solamente poner la linea de comandos /secureirc

ya est\xE1s conectada de forma segura

para saber si est\xE1s conectada : en la l\xEDnea de comandos escribe : /whois tunick

y te saldr\xE1 irc@127.0.0.1 en vez de tu IP. ya est\xE1s conectada de forma segura. ahora a charlar tranquilamente

-si te da error- "/run: unable to open 'stunnel.exe' puede ser que no tengas los ficheros de mirc-ssl.zip grabados en la carpeta mirc

una cosa que vale la pena aprender es guardar los logs de los chats. lo pongo por si quer\xE9is aprenderlo

[english] Secure mIRC (IRC+SSL for win32)

1.OBTAINING THE SOFTWARE

download these 2 programs: mIRC32 + mirc-ssl

download mIRC32: http://www.mirc.com/get.html

download mirc-ssl: http://petito.indymedia.org/bcneditorial/mirc-ssl.zip

install mIRC32 in the folder c:\mirc

uncompress mirc-ssl.zip to the folder c:\mirc (only the files, not the actual folder)

2.CONFIGURING A CONNEXION TO INDY

start the mIRC program

in the window that opens when you start the program, click on the "Add" button to add a connexion to indymedia

You have to complete the following 2 fields:

• "Description": a memorable name for your connexion to indy
• "IRC_Server": irc.indymedia.org

click ok

now you have to complet the fields of the window that is still open

• "Full Name:"
• "Email"
• "NickName" the name (psudonym) that you will use in the chat
• "Alternative" just in case someone is already using the nick you choose

click "OK"

3 SETTING THE CORRECT PREFERENCES FOR THE PROGRAM

MENU FILE > OPTIONS > GENERAL > LOCK and uncheck /run

4 LOADING THE SCRIPT

whilst running mIRC32, press ALT-R, which will open a new window inside mIRC32. In this windows select the Load option from the File menu, and choose 'mirc-ssl.mrc'

if you don't see the file, exit and re-enter the folder

click ok

5 STARTING SECURE MODE

now in the comand line (the same one you use in the chat for typing), type /secureirc. normally, you don't have to put all the options each time you enter, just /secureirc in the command line

you now have a secure connexion

to check you have connected properly : in the command line, type : /whois yournick (don't actually type 'yournick', but rather the nick that you have choosen)

then you will see irc@127.0.0.1 instead of your ip number. you are connected securely. now you can talk without worrying

-if you have an error- "/run: unable to open 'stunnel.exe' it could be that you don't have the files mirc-ssl.zip on the mirc folder

one thing worth learning to do, is to save the logs from the chats. i've included this, just in case you wish to know how
